Cleanse

  • For the first 7 days, wash the treated area 1-2 times a day with gentle cleanser


Moisturize

  • After cleansing, apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor  to the treated area


Protect

  • Cover the area with a bandage. Use the ointment until there is no more crust forming. Exposing the wound to air to dry out is NOT recommended
  • if you experience pain you may take Tylenol, but avoid Aspirin or Motrin, which increases bleeding


If you start bleeding

  • If bleeding starts, put continuous pressure on the area for 20 mins. If bleeding continues after that please email us at info@vafamd.com and we will reply ASAP


Signs of infection

  • A small area of redness (1/4in.) around the lesion/ where the area was treated is normal. If you experience more redness, pain, swelling, puss, drainage, streaks leading away from the removal site, please contact us immediately at info@vafamd.com. The area must be kept clean and may require up to 4-5 applications of antibiotics until you see the doctor.
  • Remember that any and all lesions can return. If a particular abnormality was removes and comes back looking different, please return for a follow-up appointment.
